Does Lauren Conrad Have the Key to Your Heart?

Miss Lauren Conrad has another entry to add to her somewhat impressive resume. The latest with the self-made entrepreneur is that she’s designing accessories. Considering her clothing line was pretty disappointing, I wouldn’t expect anything too fantastic from her accessory line, if I was you. But for those that do care, her new line will consist of dangly necklaces, pendents, gold and silver bangles, and a few totes and headbands. Her “signature piece” is a necklace with a key pendent. Pretty tacky if you ask me. Anyway, take a look for yourself.

Work Out Like the Stars

Recently, both Hilary Duff and Lauren Conrad were seen leaving the gym in some interesting workout attire.

The tight, revealing,spandex they were sporting can be found at American Apparel. Mad props for these girls for wearing these with such confidence; very tricky to pull off! Especially for Lauren, who tends to be a bit curvier with more meat on her hips. As you may notice, the key to pulling off this look is with a long tee. If copying this look exactly, with the runners and cotton tee, please keep it for the gym only! On the American Apparel website, however, they suggest that they can “easily [be] dressed up for a night on the town”. Sure, if you’ve got a model body, throw on some stiletto’s and shake what your mama gave ya! On a side note, why the hell is Hilary Duff wearing that massive scarf, after a sweaty workout from the gym, in the middle of summer?

Eva Mendes models for Calvin Klein…too hot for TV!

It seems Eva Mendes is not doing too well these days. Earlier in February she spent some time in rehab battling substance abuse problems. Since being released from rehab she appeared on the cover of Italy’s Vogue magazine. The cover featured Eva Mendes with relatively little clothing on, which was poorly received. The latest news with this bombshell is that the Calvin Klein ads she modeled for are also too racy. So racy, in fact, that TV sensors are trying to ban the ads. Expect a less racy version of these ads to air some time in the fall along with the launch of the new fragrance. 

 

Get the look for less: heart-shaped sunglasses

Nicole Richie looks adorable in these heart shaped sunglasses! I had a pair like this when I was a little kid. There’s a picture of me in Disneyland, I was probably about 5, and I was wearing heart-shaped sunglasses (at night, go figure) and a pair of leggings. Man, I was a stylish kid Maybe Nicole’s borrowing them from her new baby. Either which way, they’re super hot. I love these heart sunglasses to wear on a causal day with a pair of jeans or something. Then with a pretty dress I could wear something more like the Chanel sunglasses (see prior posts).

Mischa Barton’s Travels Inspire Handbags…Uh, Okay?

So get this, on July 2nd, Mischa Barton’s collection of handbags will be hitting stores. Apparently the girl was so inspired by the vintage finds from her travels that she just HAD to create her own line of handbags and subsequently piss even more people off. I’m seriously so sick of all these celebrity turned designers. At least Mischa Barton has some sort of real claim to fame though- she used her incredible “acting skills” to play Marissa Cooper on the OC a few years back, remember? At least Mischa Barton isn’t like Heidi Montag, a nonsense celebrity whose claim to fame is being on some reality tv show. And at least Mischa Barton is just sticking to handbags; Heidi Montag went all out with a full clothing line (Heidiwood) and thoroughly irritated anyone with any common sense. I thought they killed off Mischa’s character off the OC so she could pursue a “real acting career” though? Didn’t she want to be taken more seriously as an actress and really make a difference with her roles in films? How the hell does a collection of handbags tie into that?

Anyway, now that I’m done with my rant of annoying celebrity designers, I’ll get back to the point. She’s designed handbags based off her vintage finds from her travels. The bags will be available on July 2nd at retail shops such as John Lewis, Debenhams, and Fenwicks in the UK. Apparently its all really on the hush-hush and all she’s revealing is that all the bags have a flower logo which she drew herself. Let’s see if this dies off as quickly as her character Marissa Cooper did…

Get the look for less: Chanel inspired sunglasses

The Olsen twins have amazing style. It’s no wonder that again they’ve got something the rest of us want. In this case, it’s their sunglasses.

These sunglasses are so ridiculously cute, and so unique! I love everything about them. The quilting pattern on the side, the super round shape…everything! I love how they’re reminiscent of a pair of crazy goggles. Very quickly, these shades became all I could think about. Of course, I fell in love with the sunglasses, but not the price. At $780.73, these Chanel shades are out of my college student budget. 

So thank god for Forever 21! While browsing the other day, I found these:

Do these wonderful sunglasses remind you of something? Like the beautiful Chanel ones perhaps? My sister looked at me funny when I tried them on, saying that they were too round, but all I could think of was how similar they were to the Chanel ones, and how fab the twins looked in theirs. So for $5.80, I was a very happy girl. Plus, if I sit on these by accident and break them (something that always seems to happen to my sunglasses…) I won’t feel so bad! =)

Chloe Disappoints…

Remember those amazing, beautiful Chloe shoes that everyone was crazy over?
The pictures were everywhere. The colours were amazing, the concept, the heel, everything. They were some of the most sought after shoes. I loved them. Loved, loved, loved them – until last week. I was at Neiman Marcus and I saw them. Well, actually, my sister spotted them first and called me over. I could see them from a distance and my heart started beating a little faster. In a very excited state, I made my way over to her and the shoes. CAN YOU SAY DISAPPOINTED?? The shoes that I once loved so much, from the pictures, had to be about the most disappointing pair of shoes I’ve ever seen when I finally got to see them in reality. They looked cheap. The patent shine that was so gorgeous in the pictures just looked like tacky plastic in person. What do you guys think? Have you had a chance to hold them in your hands yet? Or just oogle them online? I still think they’re ridiculously hot in the pictures, just a huge disappointment in person…
 

 

Get the look for less: flowers and bows…on your headband

While shopping at Nordstroms the other day, I came across this beautiful headband.

The only thing is…I couldn’t justify spending $68.00 on this Tasha Satin Rosette Head Wrap. After seeing Blair (Leighton Meester) on Gossip Girl sporting her lovely big red bow headband, I had been looking for a fun headband. 

AND GUESS WHAT…I found one! I found one that I didn’t have to spend $68.00 on!

This cute one from Forever 21 is only $4.80! It has the fun vibe of Blair’s headband, and the elegant, sophistication of the Tasha one at Nordstroms. And the best part, I’ve still got $63.20 to spend on whatever the hell else I want…
 

Kat Von for Sephora!

Kat Von from TLC’s reality TV show, Miami Ink is collaborating with Sephora! The American tattoo artist has designed her own brand of limited edition makeup products which will have a combination old-Hollywood glamour and modern-LA edge vibe. This makeup collection contains dark eye shadows and red lipsticks to give you that much sought after Kat Von look. Take a look below at some of these fun products.

The names for these products are super cute too. The jet black eyeshadow is called “Lucifer” while the pale yellow shade is named “Tequilla”. Snatch up these hot colours before it’s too late girls!

Get the look for less: one piece swimsuits

Summer is just around the corner, and you know what that means…beaches and pools! That, in turn, means swimsuits. If your New Year’s resolution went way down the drain back in February, there’s no need to worry. The hottest thing this season is the one piece swimsuit, as seen on the likes of Eva Longoria, and Paris Hilton. 

Once again, yours truly has tracked down a cheaper version for you guys. Check out this one from American Apparel

It’s only $45.00 and comes in a bunch of colours: black, grape, burgundy, purple, poppy, and teal. Speaking from personal experience here: this swimsuit is a godsend. It covers any problems areas and makes anybody look like they’ve spent the last year in a gym.
