Get the look for less: wide-leg jeans

Wide-leg jeans are back! And I love it! I’ve had enough of my skinny jeans and am ready to retire them to the back of my closet. I liked my skinny jeans a few years ago…before EVERYONE was wearing them. Now when I see my…how should we say…”fashionably challenged” friends wearing skinnies, it makes me think twice before putting them on (and yes, I’m wearing skinny jeans as I’m typing this, what a horrible hypocrite I am). Anyway, like I was saying, I’m excited for all the wide leg jeans that are available now! Everyone from Victoria Beckham to Kim Kardashian have been spotted wearing wide leg jeans lately. Take a look for yourself.

These jeans can be tricky to pull off however. Of course uber skinny gals like Victoria Beckham have nothing to worry about. She looks great in a light wash because of her zero curves. However…J-Lo’s light washed wide leg denim…not so flattering. Beyonce opted for a dark wash but still couldn’t quite pull it off. Beyonce’s curves are great and all, but she’s looking a bit thick in her wide leg pants. When J-Lo tried out the dark washed wide leg jeans, the overall look and effect was much more flattering. Suprisingly, Kim Kardashian looked GREAT in her wide leg jeans! Curvy girls really gotta be careful when trying this trend. Kim’s tummy bearing top with her wide legs isn’t really my cup of tea, but she does look great. She looks tiny, toned and perfect. Take a look at Kim’s bikini pics taken recently, and see how the dark washed wide leg jeans work wonders on her curvy body.

 

See what I mean! Those bikini shots of Kim are less than flattering. She looks like a fat lump for goodness sake! When looking at the pics of Kim in the jeans, one would think she would have a swimsuit perfect body underneath. Ahhh…the effects of a great fitting pair of jeans.

Anyway, I reckon you guys should check out the wide leg jeans Forever 21 has right now. 

PS: this particular pair, on sale right now for $24.80, is for the zero curves girls. Curvy girls, you want to stay away from pockets that will only emphasis your hips and thighs.

They’re $27.80, also at Forever 21. Throw on a pair of killer heels, preferably platforms to elongate your figure even more, a la Kim and J-Lo style. Another word of advice, take out the tacky drawstring. It’ll make it look less “Forever 21(ish)” and make you look much more chic. Enjoy!
